The girl in social media is not our student-HM
By Western Focus Team
Authorities of Bweranyangi Girls Secondary school have clarified on the photos of a girl which have gone viral on social media.
According to the headmistress Molly Buhwairoha the girl in the photo purported to be a student of Bweranyangi is not true. “We don’t know that girl because she is not our student here,” Buhwairoha explained.
The social media is awash with photos of a girl ‘portrayed’ as a senior three student to be in a ‘love affair’ with the embattled Bushenyi Resident District Commissioner Robert Atuheirwe who has since been suspended from office by the office of the President over his conduct.
The issue of RDC Atuheirwe has gone viral attracting mixed reactions including condemnations.
The headmistress said, “The issue of the RDC’s alleged relations with a student in the school is being investigated by the relevant organs and as you may have read, action has already been taken.”
“We take these allegations seriously and we are cooperating fully with authorities to investigate the matter. The safety and well-being of our students remain our top priority,” Buhwairoha said.
How the RDC tricked security guards
According to sources, earlier in the days, the school had been in panic following the loss of one of the support staff who was working in the school farm. The worker reportedly collapsed and died mysteriously.
Another incident is that of an engineer who was supervising a construction project in the school and got an accident in Sheema and died. The two incidents reportedly became a security issue and the security had to intervene.
“The fact that the school was in such panic, when the RDC arrived at the gate, the security guards thought he had come to investigate and gather information,” said one staff who preferred anonymity.
“Had it not been the two cases of death, the RDC would not have been allowed to enter the gates but because he is the head of security in the district, the security guards had to cooperate,” a source added.
On entering the school, Atuheirwe reportedly parked his official vehicle in the school compound and the birth day girl moved to the car to pick her birthday gifts.
Reports indicate that earlier in the day, the girl had boasted before her fellow students that on her birthday she will celebrate it with a top official from the President’s office.
It’s at that point when business in the school came to a standstill as the girl was receiving the gifts from the RDC as students chatted at the RDC naming him mura….mura (brother in-law.)
The staff who were on duty reportedly remained in shock and wondering how the RDC gained entrance to the school late in the evening and how he dared to do such an attempt.
“The allegations labeled against you are serious in nature, therefore warrants your proper and detailed explanation,” directed Hajji Yunus Kakande the Secretary office of the president in the letter of suspension.
Kakande said that when he perused through Atuhairwe’s personal statement, he found a lot of gaps and uncoordinated story which brought doubt into the mind of the right thinking member of the public.
“Therefore leaving such allegations without invoking the law and regulations compromises the integrity of the Presidency and Service at large,” Kakande said noted.
Kakande said the allegations against the RDC contravenes the public service standing orders (2021) and code of conduct, Ethics and Integrity in the Public service by a public servant.
“Under the Public Service standing orders (2021), the alleged offence contravenes Section F-r (b), “Acts that bring the Service into disrepute” and this tantamount to a misconduct which may also result into a criminal matter,” Kakande stated.
“I am therefore constrained to allow you to continue executing your duties as RDC. For that matter, management has decided that; you step aside until investigations and disciplinary procedures are concluded in any case not later than six months from now,” the statement said.
“At a later time, a prima facie case is ascertained against you with over whelming evidence; management will have no option but to interdict you accordingly,” Kakande vowed.
Atuhairwe will only be receiving his salary while his monthly facilitation allowance has also been suspended with effect from 1st November 2024.
Speaking to Western Focus Magazine, Atuhairwe said it is unfortunate that a lot of lies have been peddled and packaged to injure him.
He said the allegations have been packaged by someone he didn’t disclose saying he doesn’t know his/her motive.
Atuhairwe said his superiors (the President’s office) is already handling the investigations. He said he has already submitted his explanation to the office of the President. End.
