Kampala Business mogul Obadia Rushambuza dead

Kampala, Western region and Bushenyi in particular are mourning the untimely death of one of the prominent pillar, business mogul Obadia Ntebekeine Rushambuza.

The different social media pages are awash with the news of the untimely death of Ntebekeine a great man and role model to many.

His Brother Lay. Canon Apollo Rushambuza said Ntebekeine was announced dead at Agakhan Hospital in Kenya. Apollo said Ntebekeine was rushed to Kenya on Wednesday where Doctors tried to manage blood clot in vain.  He explained that Ntebekeine suffered a stroke attack on Monday while in Masheruka where he had gone with his wife Naome Kibaju, the Sheema North Member of Parliament (MP.) Apollo said after the stroke attack Ntebekeine was rushed to Mbarara referral from where he was airlifted to Mulago national referral hospital where Doctors also could not manage the situation before he was referred to Agakhan Hospital in Kenya on Wednesday-30th October 2024.

 A son to the late Can. Zabron Rushambuza .aka. Ai Mukama, Ntebekeine has been highly and successful influential entrepreneur across the African region.

 Ntebekeine has also been the head of Abagoma clan a position he took over after the death of his father Mzee Rushambuza.  Ntebekeine has been running a chain of international businesses.

Groomed by his father Rushambuza, Ntebekeine gained business skills at a tender age and joined Kampala where he has been among the respected tycoons. He studied from the top most Kampala schools before he chose to join business in 1973.  

Away from business, Ntebekeine has been influential in the social, economic and political affairs of the country. He is one of the strong ‘confidants’ and supporter of President Yoweri Museveni.

“You made us to love NRM in Bushenyi more than anyone else but unfortunately you left us there and abandoned it,” Ntebekeine told his friend, the former Minister Amanya Mushega at one of the functions at his (Ntebekeine) home. “Fortunately you left us there (NRM) at the time when things are good and better,” Ntebekeine told Mushega.

Ntebekeine pledged to start a reconciliation process between Mushega and his longtime friend and comrade, Museveni.  Ntebekeine has also been strong pillar in church and his contribution towards church is immeasurable. At the time when church was struggling to complete the Church house in Kampala, Ntebekeine donated shs10million towards the church house projectand urged the then archbishop Rev. Stephen Ntagali to speed up the project so that Christians can see it completed and open. “We are looking at the day when the church house project will be commissionedbecause we have been patiently waiting,” Ntebekeine appealed to the Archbishop.

A very distinguished man, Ntebekeine has been very devoted Christian, a God-loving, hardworking, joyful, generous, patriotic, brave, a cheerful man, with a high sense of humor and friendly man. End.
