Reshuffle: Bishop Twinomujuni shakes up staff as he ordains 6 and 7 Priests

The Bishop of Diocese of West Ankole Rt. Rev. Johnson Twinomujuni has announced a reshuffle of the Diocesan staff.

In the reshuffle that was announced on Sunday after an ordination service that was held at St Peter’s Cathedral Bweranyangi in Bushenyi district, the Bishop announced transfers, promotions and retirements of some Reverends.

Those that went home on retirement after serving their mandatory time include; The Ven. Rev. Can. Yoramu Mwesigye who has been the Archdeacon-Kyabugimbi Archdeaconry, the Ven. Rev. Can James Kariisa who has been the Mitooma Archdeacon and one lay reader, Jonas Tumwiine who has been serving at the newly established Nyakabirizi Town Church in Nyakabirizi Division in Bushenyi/Ishaka Municipality.

According to a statement released by the Diocesan Information and communications officer Bright Nuwaha, in the promotions, Rev Shedrack Musasizi has been promoted to an Archdeacon and moved from Kyankukwe Parish where he has been serving as area Parish priest to Katerera Archdeaconry as Archdeacon. Rev.Keneth Mujinya was also promoted to Archdeacon and moved from Mashonga Parish to head Ishaka Urban Archdeaconry as the area Archdeacon.  

In the transfers, Ven. Rev. Mesharch .T. Kibeherere was moved from Katerera Archdeaconry to Masheruka Archdeaconry to replace the late Rev.Can Moses Turyaguma who went to be with the lord recently.  Rev Tito Byambwenu was moved from Butare Parish to Rweibaare Archdeaconry, Ven. Rev. Laban Batungire has been transferred from Ishaka Urban Archdeaconry where he had served for about one year to Mitooma Archdeaconry to replace Kariisa who retired.  Ven. Rev. Geoffrey Mwesigwa has been transferred from Rweibaare Archdeaconry to Kyabugimbi Archdeaconry to replace Mwesigye.

Bishops’ Office:
Rev. Can. Robert Kankiriho has been moved from Masheruka Archdeaconry where he has been caretaking as area Archdeacon and back to his position in the Bishop’s Office as Pension and Human Resource Officer, Rev Alex Wamanya moves from Kirugu Parish to serve as Assistant Diocesan Education Secretary, Rev Patience Kyoshabire who has the Diocesan assistant Diocesan Education Secretary will now head the Diocese’s school Education Inspectorate, Dancan Ahimbisibwe who has been the Diocesan Inspector of Schools now moves to head Household and Community Transformation/ Farhers’ Union Coordinator.

For chaplains, Rev Raiton Turyahabwe moves from Ishaka Urban to Ryakasinga CHE

Curates: Rev. Wisbon Akatuhamya was moved from Ryakasinga CHE to Kitagata COU, Rev Shedrack Mujuni from Nyakashaka COU to all Saints Greater Bushenyi COU, Rev Derrick Taremwa from College to Ishaka Urban,  Rev Kevin Akandwanaho from Home to Nyakabirizi Town Church, Pafras Mwongyera from Mbarara Modern P/S to Nyakashaka COU.


Vicars:  Those affected by the transfer  include; Rev Fred Mwesigye from All Saints Greater Bushenyi to Nyakatete Parish, Rev Elizabeth Kushaba from Nyakatete COU to Nyakabirizi Parish, Rev Nicholas Naturinda from Nyakabirizi Parish to Butare Parish, Rev Keith Ayebare from Kashenyi Parish to Bweranyangi Parish, Rev Landson Akandwanaho from Kigoma COU to Rwamujojo Parish, Rev Wellen Katusiime from Home to Kirugu Parish, Rev Enoth Kyankari from Nyakabungo COU to Kigoma Parish, Rev Elizabeth Rev Eliab Turyagumanawe from Rwamujojo Parish to Kashenyi Parish, Rev Byayesu Benjamin from Bweranyangi Parish to Mashonga Parish, Rev Turyamusiima Bernard Kenda from Kitagata to Kyankukwe Parish.

Ordination

Bishop Twinomujuni also commissioned 12 Christians as Lay readers, ordained six Ordinands as Deacons  and Priested seven Deacons at St Peter’s Cathedral Bweranyangi.

The Priested include; Rev. Aturinde Agrace, Rev. Matovu Simon, Rev. Mugume Grace, Rev. Mujuni Sedurack, Rev. Nahabwe Christopher, Rev. Tumwijukye Julius, and Rev. Turindwamukama Apofia.
The Ordained Reverand Deacons include; Akatuhamya Wisbon, Mukundane Immaculate, Natumanya Loyce, Rutaremwa Derrick, Rwankaari Enoth and Turyahabwe Raiton.
Those commissioned as Layreaders are; Arinaitwe Rose, Bashaija Enoch, Kakuru Hannington, Kwikiriza Grigory, Mushemeza Godius, Mwongyera Epaphrus, Nasasira Agnes
Nuwahereza Wycliffee, Tugume Azalius, Tuhimbise Racheal, Tumusiime Modern and Turyatemba Aron.

The Bishop thanked  God for his enabling love and noted that the Diocese is doing well. He thanked layreaders, Priests, Archdeacons, Diocesan staff, Head of Laity, Chancellor, Synod, and  Council for their support and Ministry across the Diocese.

He noted that God is giving the Diocese learned and qualified Church Ministers adding that all Church Ministers have been encouraged and supported to take a course in Financial Management hence improving handling and accountability of Church funds.

The Bishop thanked God for the developments around the Diocese and projects especially Ankole Western University and Jubilee Sacco. He disclosed that the Diocese is soon embarking on the long awaited Katungu Mission Hospital project and Renovation of St Peter’s Cathedral Bweranyangi.

The day’s sermon was delivered by the Archdeacon All Saints Church Mbarara, Ven Rev Patrick Atuhaire, who trained the commissioned and Ordained, delivering the sermon from
Gal.6:9-10.
He challenged those Commissioned, Ordained and Priested and serving Church ministers not to get tired of doing good. End.
