Bushenyi RDC’s office arrest one over PDM funds

Officials from the Bushenyi Resident District Commissioner (RDC) office have caused the arrest of one person for soliciting bribes from PDM funds beneficiaries.  

According to a statement from the RDC’s office, Muhammad Congo of Rubare cell, Butare ward- Kyamuhunga town council in Bushenyi district was rounded up today.

The RDC’s team moved into action after getting a tip of information from the District Internal Security Office (DISO.)

Muhammad is alleged to have been soliciting money from impending PDM beneficiaries.  

Some of the victims who were approached by Muhammad Congo to give him money have also been asked to make statements at Butare police post for police to be able to compile Muhammad’s file.

The Bushenyi Deputy RDC Katsigazi Donanto instructed police to make more investigations saying  PDM is a government  program and its beneficiaries are supposed to access it at free total cost. “Whoever is a middle man to ask for bribes should be arrested,” the statement read.
